Great idea, it would certainly make our Value Management approach to portfolio management easier to document.

In response to: Managing Lessons Learned

Good post Malc, I always call them lessons identified. Because if we do nothing with them they are not learned.

As the Director of Project Management I police the PM's reviewing them by having a section in the project/stage plan called "Lessons Incorporated" where they have to document the reference numbers of the lessons they have incorporated into their plans based on their review of the lessons identified log (we use a SharePoint based log)

Most informative, didn't know about OpenProject and agree with OpenOffice comments.

@Malcom Didn't see the post until you tweeted it today. Thanks for the pointer to OpenProject - looks well worth exploring, certainly for a couple of community projects.

Hello Malcom,
I’ve translated to Spanish the "Community Edition" language file but there is a problem with non English characters, for example:
Add File|Añadir Archivo
Version|Versión
I’m testing the file with the last version (2.1.0.002).
Regards.

PS: I’m going to share the file in my blog avoiding these characters.

Gordon,

Sorry about that there is such a lot of PRINCE2 sites now it is difficult to keep track. Here is the link to the Official set: http://www.prince-officialsite.com/Resources/Resources.asp

If you want to download Community Edition you will get both sets built into the methods and with additional templates I have produced to be in keeping with the officail set but which go beyond its narrow Appendix A definition.

Thanks, hope you are finding the rest of the blog useful.

Re: "I'm still amazed to see people selling PRINCE2 templates when they are available for free. I'm the author of the OGC official PRINCE2 template pack for the 2005 version of the method and PRINCE2 2009 and this template pack can be downloaded for free in a zip from the OGC web site."

I couldn't find it !

"Plans are only good intentions unless they immediately degenerate into hard work"- Peter Drucker. and plans are in them selves just a small part of what is required to enable the project to be delivered successfully. We are exploring the project environment, the people, policies, methods, tools and externalities which affect how projects get delivered in practice.
